[Review] Sankarea

Sankarea is the story of a High School boy with a bit of a Zombie fetish, and his quest to "Kiss a Zombie girl". The boy's name is Chihiro Furuya and his life practically revolves around Zombies and horror films, and every chance he get's he watches one. He makes frequent visit's to a Movie Rental place a couple blocks from his house where he get's all the latest movies and re-watches some classics or personal favorites. Along the way he finds a "book" he treats like some kind of Holy Bible that tells him how to make someone come BACK TO LIFE, and then he just goes crazy over it. One day his pet cat Babu(CREEPY LITTLE THING) dies, and he seem's to think now's the best chance to try it out. So he goes out in the rain and dig's him up. Not creepy at all. He then goes to an Abandoned Hospital with his dog to try and resurrect him, but fails the first two or three times. But every time he would go there, about halfway through the daily experiment, he would hear a girl by a well. The girl is named Rea Sanka, a very wealthy young girl with a downright shit life. Around the third time he make's contact with her and finally get's her to come in, and tells her what he's doing. Instead of flipping her shit she is slightly impressed and amazed that that could even be possible, and once the potion in the book is finished they pour it down a dead cat's throat it it doesn't immediately work(Note the "Immediately"). So the stupid girl decides that since it didn't work it may be poisonous and she tries to commit SUICIDE by drinking it. Luckily Chihiro didn't see this, because it would have been a major turn-off. But later on in the Anime, like, 1 episode later, Rea falls off a cliff and land's on a sharp rock HEAD FIRST. Now, I know what your thinking, she should have had a split in two head or something. But no, she basically stand's up and calls her dad a jeeeeeeerk and walks away. I wont tell you the rest because I basically just ruined the beginning, but here's some other important factors.

At first I really didn't like the Anime because I figured it would just turn into another "Highschool of the Dead" and I really liked that Anime, I just don't like it when Anime's are too alike. Another thing was the whole Zombie Fetish, I couldn't get past that. I mean it's fine just I was expecting some kind of green woman with saggy skin fucking some perverted Highschool kid. But I have NEVER been so wrong.
Sankarea is a great Anime that I HIGHLY suggest you watch. It is SO not in any way like Highschool of the Dead or any other Zombie Anime I have seen, it slightly reminded me of Romeo and Juliet except only one family hated the other and the girl was the only one who died. It makes you saw "Awww" so many time's in such a short time span that I, a Sixteen year old boy, probably cried more during this Anime than during a funeral. The character's are very descriptive and the story line use's wonderful word choice. My only regret? There's only one season.

Chihiro's Grandfather keep's eating the Poisonous Leaves called "Hydrangea macrophylla" and remain's unaffected. Probably a Zombie himself.
"Hydrangea macrophylla", the Leave's that grow in abundance behind Chihiro's house. Rea must keep eating them to NOT de-compose, but I don't know how winter will go for her then.
Rea's father is really creepy. Every year on her Birthday he take's practically naked picture's of her.
Rea's Mother was FOURTEEN when her father, in his early THIRTIES, married her. She died after the Birth of Rea and her father is crazy protective. I would hide in a closet for life if he was related to me.
