More Details On October's Little Mermaid Blu-ray Set
Watch Scary Movie 5 Online "It's wonderful being almost 87," Stritch says with her trademark deadpan delivery, "You can get away with just about anything." This point is proven again and again as she greets friends and family with a sharp wit and barbed remarks that earn knowing laughs and smiling sighs from her audience on and off screen. Of course, this fearless irreverence is a major part of why audiences adore her. Everyone from Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin (whom Stritch affectionately dubs "Joan Crawford"), to her old Alcoholics Anonymous friends describe Stritch as sometimes hard to handle, but each and every one of those interviewed admits she's worth it. Her work still stings with biting comedy and poignant moments of pathos, both of which first-time director Chiemi Karasawa captures in this inspiring and entertaining portrait doc.
Watch 42 Online Amid her flurry of rehearsals, TV shoots, and general cavorting, Stritch is struggling with old addictions and growing medical concerns. An admitted alcoholic, she wavers on her thoughts on going back on her twenty-plus years of sobriety. She is after all in her 80s, she tells us, what could it hurt? But with her battling diabetes, it seems it could hurt a great deal. Several health scares show her in a frightfully vulnerable state, which leads to the topic of her own mortality. She ponders on what her legacy will be once she's gone. While these moments are painful to watch, Stritch never lets them languor in sadness, quickly quipping, "Dying is easy; comedy is hard." And just like that her legacy is clear. This quick-witted comedienne will be remembered for being the badass broad who could make audiences laugh through the tears she's just made them shed. Elaine Stritch is a force of nature, and Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me is a glorious portrait of her in action.
Watch G I Joe 2 Online Scorsese has reportedly been interesting in pursuing this project since 1991, and over the years has considered Daniel Day-Lewis, Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal for its cast. Memorably, he was hoping to shoot Silence in the summer of 2007. Then in the winter of 2011, he insisted it would be his follow-up to Hugo, but he made The Wolf of Wall Street instead... then renewed his claim to make Silence next. This is a story we've heard again, and again, and again. But with its financing lined up, it seems like this really could be Scorsese's shot to make the movie he's so longed to shoot. Depending on the scheduling requirements of his not yet announced cast, Silence could shoot in Taiwan as early as July 2014.
Watch G I Joe Retaliation Online The reboot of The Crow has more than its fair share of ups and downs. While at one point it looked as though the film was going to be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and star Bradley Cooper, eventually both dropped off the project, and then Relativity Media had to deal with a lawsuit from The Weinstein Company (which was eventually settled). Since all of the drama the remake has gotten back up on its feet, with F. Javier Gutierrez set to direct and Warrior's Cliff Dorfman working on the script, and now it seems they have found a possible new star.
Watch Jack The Giant Slayer Online The Wrap is reporting that Tom Hiddleston, who wowed both critics and audiences playing Loki in both Kenneth Branagh's Thor and Joss Whedon's The Avengers, is now in talks to play the new Eric Draven in The Crow. The role was most notably previously played by Brandon Lee, who, while filming the first movie back in 1993, was accidentally shot and killed. The plot follows the character has he is killed, rises from the grave, and seeks vengeance against the person who killed him. It was first conceived as a comic book written by James O'Barr in the late 1980s.
Watch G I Joe 2 Online Obviously there are still going to be a lot of people out there - including myself - who don't really see the point of doing a Crow reboot, but casting Hiddleston could be a great way to win some people over (especially considering that at one point they were thinking about Mark Wahlberg or Channing Tatum for the lead). But what do you think? Let us know your thoughts on the potential casting in the comments below. Anyone who has ever seen a Seth Rogen film knows that he has a healthy appreciation of marijuana. Not only do his characters regularly smoke, the guy even wrote a movie - Pineapple Express - which is titled after a specific strain. So it should come as a surprise to exactly nobody that This is the End, the new film that Rogen co-directed with writing partner Evan Goldberg, not only features a good amount of pot smoking, but that it would even have a tie in to the "holiday" 4/20.
The promo seen above comes to us via the official Sony Pictures YouTube channel, and while you might think that it's been released one day early, presumably they're just trying to get the word out about the munchies promotion. Either that or somebody decided to just make a three-day weekend out of it. In the film, which will be in theaters June 12th, Rogen and Jay Baruchel (playing themselves, like every other actor in the film) decide to attend a party at James Franco's palatial Los Angeles home when the unexpected occurs: the start of the biblical apocalypse. Stuck together with Franco, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, and Craig Robinson, the group tries to survive a world that has been taken over by demons, zombies and every other horrible thing you can imagine. For more about This Is The End be sure to check out Katey's set visit report and interviews, as well as my chat with the directors at WonderCon last month and coverage from CinemaCon this past week.
The Hangover movies are filled to the brim bizarre, weird, and crazy characters, but there’s no denying that Zach Galifianakis’ Alan is king among them. Not only does he regularly pull off crazy stunts – like, for example, drugging his closest friends – even in general conversation it’s clear that something is clearly off-base. So how does one even begin to enter the mind of a character like that? While on the set of The Hangover Part III late last year myself and a small group of other film journalists got to talk to Galifianakis about just that. Speaking with the actor in between scenes we had the chance to talk about not only accessing the mind of such an incredible weirdo, but also how he’s grown as an actor over the last four years, what’s been going on with Alan in the two years since the events of the last movie, and how the wardrobe plays an integral part of the character – and you can read our entire conversation below.
