First things first; I'm going to explain why I'm here asking for help about my personal future to a bunch of strangers, and not people I trust. About 2 weeks ago, I started to take interest regarding my future education. I'm not a smart guy, a wealthy one, nor a bright one either. I'm that normal person who walks down your street everyday minding his own business. At the time I knew morally nothing about colleges, besides the two kinds(Community, and University). The curious man I am, I researched what were the difference between the two; I mean what's the difference, they're both colleges right? I was wrong to the fullest extent.
I honestly don't like talking about my personal life to anyone especially my parents(and the fact that they are separated). My mom staying over seas, making it really hard to keep in contact with her. If I estimate the times we talk, I would say about once a month. To make things much more complicated, she speaks a totally different language. So there is no way in hell we'll be talking about a topic like my education through the phone. As for my dad? Well, the best way I can describe my father in one phrase. It would be "meh". My father is the type of person who wants things to go his way. If he were the person to be paying my tuition for a college, he would be the one picking the school, picking the courses and probably picking the girls I fuck. So he's out of the question.
By know you guys might already know what I mean. As I said earlier I'm not a rich man nor grew up in a rich family. There is no way in hell my parents are paying a grand per semester in a University. And I highly doubt I'll get accepted into any scholarship program. So my last resort is a Community college. Being less than I expected, it was surly enough for my parents budget. I researched a bit and came across some useful information. Apparently, if I'm not mistaken, there's two types of students. A full time, and a part time. Full time students take 12 semester hours/units, while part time students take roughly 6 semester hours/units or lower. I'm interested in being a part time student while I take a part time job.
This is where my first question comes in. Will this extend the time of a person getting his/her associate's degree/certificate?
If someone successfully answers my question, I'll continue to the second. Please I need HELP.
Please feel free to ask me anything and I'll answer to my fullest.
I've got things planned out, but before I say anything else I would love to start with the basics.
PS: I would love an answer from a person who had a college experience.
